Resident Election Registration Board of the Philippine Embassy in Canberra Convenes Hearing for April 2026

CANBERRA — The Resident Election Registration Board of the Philippine Embassy in Canberra convened April 20 to process overseas voter applications filed between December 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026, First Secretary and Consul Rainier Casis said.

The RERB considered applications for registration, certification, reactivation and correction of entries for the 2028 Philippine National Elections. The board also handled requests for name changes, address transfers and other voter-related modifications.

Qualified overseas Filipinos have until September 30, 2027 to register with the Embassy ahead of the 2028 elections. Registered voters will cast ballots for President, Vice President, Senators and Party List Representatives.

The Embassy encourages eligible Filipinos to submit their applications early. More information on the registration process and requirements is available on the Embassy's official website.

Filipino-Australians seeking to participate in Philippine elections must register through the Embassy in Canberra or other designated diplomatic posts in Australia. This registration process enables overseas Filipinos throughout the country to exercise their voting rights in national elections, regardless of their current residence in Australia. Eligible voters have nearly 18 months to complete their applications before the registration deadline.
